The bank’s outdated backup system had limited storage and operated on a low-bandwidth 1Gig LAN, making it challenging to manage backups efficiently. The bank required an upgraded backup platform that could scale, handle diverse data types, and maintain high retention and performance.
Wyse Solution
Wysetek deployed an upgraded backup solution that included a 74TB backup appliance with features like SAN-based backups, deduplication, compression, and encryption. Critical applications and databases (SAP, SQL, and Oracle) were secured with backup agents, and VMware and NDMP were protected through agentless backups, reducing backup time by 50%.
Impact
The new backup solution enabled the bank to achieve its RPO and RTO goals, ensuring data availability and secure long-term retention. With faster backups, reduced storage requirements, and high data security, the bank improved operational efficiency, reduced resource demands, and met compliance standards effectively.
